Comprehension – Analysis, understanding of and application of readying skills.
Big Cat Scheme – New reading scheme for individual children to choose from a band. Children are assessed as to what band they should read from.
Phonics – Phonics is a reading method involving letter recognition: a method of teaching reading in which children learn to associate letters with the speech sounds they represent, rather than learning to recognize the whole word as a unit.
Reading Scheme – A progressive set of books in the same style.
Progress – How much a child has moved to acheive their goal.
Attainment – A level that the child has been awarded and acheived at a particular time.
DfE – Department of Education
PAN – Published Admision Number (Amount of children that can join the school)
